Hmm. I think it's a nice idea. So I can train my english writing and can expend my vocabluary.
I hope and guess, that Yvi'll be wrong with her statement. I'm not goining to use the google-translator for this thread. Leo.org is way better in my opinion. Wink

Sign, Yosh-I! I like dict.cc very much, but I hope, that I have not to use it that much.

Nice thread idea, I really like to write and speak and read in English. Smile

Nice Thread Michi!

Altough this Thread reminds me, how bad my written and spoken English is... Pardon

Maybe it gets better with a little more practice. Unknw

Edit: In my opinion, the good old Langenscheidt Dictionary is the best! Biggrin

Am I the only one who doesn´t understand what Michi wanted to say? Biggrin

Maybe this thread will acutally be used more than I thought. I like that. I love speaking English.

If I have to choose a dictionary I choose the good old "Cambridge Advanced Learner´s Dictionary". But on the internet I would go with Dade and choose Leo.org Wink

Well, I think I know it. When I look at your posts, Michi11, it seems that you still have to improve your English.

Hmm, the Google Translator has probably done something wrong.

That's why i don't use that damn thing.

See, when I need a single word, I look in the Langenscheidt dictionary or search it at Leo.org.
Type a whole sentence in a translator and post it without correct it, is actually bad. Than you get sentences, that no one will ever understand.

RE: Talk in English!
Google Translations isn't that bad actually. I can't read a single word in japanese for example, but with the automatic translation I get at least a hint what a Japanese site is about. So it's okay to understand a foreign-language text, but you should never use it to write one.

RE: Talk in English!
Google is the best translator for whole sentences. The worst is the Bing-translator. It doesn't translate it, in the translation is just the same sentence, in the same language.

Stimmt das so? Ich lerne Englisch erst im dritten Jahr...

RE: Talk in English!
It's way better to translate your sentence word by word by your own. On the one hand may a programm never find the right words and can not know, what you trying to say. On the other hand you may learn the language way better this way.

I actually don't know my self, what Yoshi try to say. But the point is, that the Bing translator is a waste of time.

Do you mean, that you don't have any english lessons today?
If you meant this, your sentence is wrong.
You can't translate every german sentence into english word by word.

Examples:
"You are heavy on wire." Makes no sence at all.
"Everything hangs together" is in english "Everything is connected to everything"

I know, that my english isn't perfect at all. But i think, we also should correct each other, if some try to learn and improve their english.

I still get the point of what you try to say. So you can't be that bad.
