Shadow of the Colossus - FILM!!

Neuesten Meldungen zufolge soll das epische Meisterwerk Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) verfilmt werden!

Fans of the iconic game Shadow of the Colossus may have to succumb to a rather epic disappointment, as it has been officially announced the game will be adapted to a movie. Knowing the track record of these kinds of projects, it seems yet another game will fall prey to the silver-screen treatment.

On board to write the screenplay is Justin Marks, who is also in the works to pen 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo via Disney, as well as Suicide Squad, based on the DC comic of the same name. Though these aren't exactly credentials worthy of a movie of this caliber, Marks could turn around and surprise each and every one of us with a movie translation of a fantastic and beautiful game.

It should be interesting to see what Marks will do with the story, considering there is quite the minimal amount of characters - at least 18, if you can count the Wanderer, the girl, and the Colossi standing in the way of his goal. Hopefully, this doesn't turn into a wannabe Lord of the Rings title, and some real movie magic is performed. I wouldn't get my hopes up. Then again, this is the man who helped bring the Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li atrocity to light, so we'll have to see if he redeems himself...

Kevin Misher will be producing the film through his very own Misher Films. Unfortunately, there's no trailer yet, but keep checking back for more information as it surfaces!

Ganz ehrlich? Ich glaube nicht, dass das was wird.. Ich mein, dass Spiel ist genial - keine Frage - aber es eignet sich nicht wirklich als Filmthema.. Wenn es denn schließlich so weit sein sollte, dass der Film in Deutschland in die Kinos kommt werd ich ihn mir allerdings trotzdem ansehen - aber nur weil das Spiel so genial ist - wahrscheinlich werden dadurch aber nur meine Befürchtungen bestätigt

Da bin ich beim kommenden God of War - Kinofilm allerdings anderer Meinung, das könnte sehr genial werden.

Das Spiel habe ich zwar nie selbst besessen, aber es ist absolut genial und episch inszeniert. Ob es allerdings als Filmvorlage taugt, ich bin skeptisch.

Finde das aber sehr interessant, dass in letzter Zeit so viele Computerspielverfilmungen angekündigt werden (Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia usw.).

hmmm eine Verfilmung von Shadow of the Colossus ?
naja ich finde die Idee, so ein geniales spiel umzusetzen eigentlich ganz gut.
man kann noch nicht von voraus sagen, dass des ein schlechter Film wird.
Es kommt ganz auf die umsetzung drauf an und wie ich finde bietet sich das spiel dafür sehr gut an

ich werd ihn mir auf jeden fall mal holen und bin schon gespannt darauf^^

Eine Gute Idee ist es ja! Und wenn der Film gut werden würde fände ich das auch super geil.
Aber mein Englisch hat leider nicht ganz ausgereicht um zu verstehn ob Justin Marks Regie führt oder ob das jemand anderes macht. Wenn es nicht Marks macht hoffe ich stark das nicht ein kleiner boxender deutscher Regiseur Namens Uwe Boll den Posten bekommt!
Aber wenn nicht freu ich ich schon sehr drauf
